The work on skating, ice skating with goalie skates is different. The boat is shaped differently and the road is flatter and closer to the ground.

Otherwise ... Focus on the abdomen. Yoga and Pilates are good starting points (I'm in my upper middle class / 30 and I started a yoga class in a few weeks for my team to the smell of patchouli, as I at that stage following logic). Cardio work (swimming, cycling, running) is important. The days of fat in the Internet are over.

  2. Hey, it's nice to hear someone else wants to play! (not sarcastic, I'm serious)
Well, I'm not a goalie, I'm not sure how much help I will, but I play hockey, and I have approximately 5 years, but most at home.
In fact, the keepers of my team a goalie roller hockey for a while and just started playing on the ice this year. During the summer, has put his goalie skates and started to do the public skating sessions on the track just by the basic exercises that can participate using any skater. As a goalkeeper, banks are very important.
Lateral movement is something that is not like a hockey goalie skates, it is important to achieve this goal. Upon termination of a well on both legs, is the practice of folding into the blue of the line or push it with the skateboard and the other in a position to stop the opposition to have slipped.
I would also recommend going to an informal practice - we stick & puck on our ice rink, which just a bunch of people who are using their own skates, and arts and shooting practice and comeStick handling. Most people look forward to any question of goalkeeper level of competence and sometimes mini-games are organized in a way that the practice is more an idea of what could be a game.
If you are starting out, would be the first thing that comfortable with all aspects of the skates. How often do you skate with or without equipment. Crossover transitions, stops and starts, tight corners, nothing.
As it seems to have a goalkeeper who has been before, you should know the basics of Porter and leave all that remains is to ask the other coaches and experienced players for help and advice. If goalie clinics, do not leave as many as you can. There are certain things that hockey goalkeeper must not be forgotten, so the sooner you start, the better you are learning.
Another thing to do is play the team would see, whether at home or an adult or a different league. Talk with the trainer and see if you can come to any practices that can be tested. Label, with their goalkeeper and Glean some tips. Requesting orand leave for players to vote, which, as they start to be learned. Experiences.
Good luck and sorry for the long answer!
